Verification

Completed isn’t the whole story.

A completed upload doesn’t prove a backup will restore. Rivo reports completion, integrity checks, and sample restore results separately.

Backup storage credentials stay off your server, so compromising that machine doesn’t give an attacker those credentials to access or delete stored backups.

Setup

What each part needs from you.

Database backups

A MariaDB or MySQL host that Rivo can reach, and a database user with read access. Nothing is installed. Backups run on the schedule you set, or when you ask.

File recovery points

An SSH login (password or key) that can read the server folder. Nothing is installed; Rivo connects, reads, and disconnects. Files are copied while the server runs, so a point is a live copy, not a paused one.

Continuous file history

A small agent on the server, installed with one command run as root. Linux only (x86-64 and ARM64). It reads the folders you chose, only makes outbound connections, and keeps text files such as scripts and configs.

What a file recovery point contains. On plans without game assets it holds your scripts, configs and server data, and leaves out stream/ folders and asset files (models, textures, clothing, maps and audio). Restoring one brings back your code and settings, not those assets. On plans with game assets it holds the whole server folder, and each server can still switch them off.

Every plan includes database backups, file recovery points and continuous file history.
